A Must Read Essay By Ralph Waldo Emerson: "Self-Reliance"

You can' t depend on nobody, if you want something YOU have to do what it takes to get it. Don't expect x or y to do it for you, you were born alone and you are going to die alone. Becoming self-reliance will open up many locks for you.

The following website will take you to one of the greatest essays ever written. Read up and apply the pearls of wisdom Mr.Emerson suggests.

Inspirational Story: A Father's Love For His Disabled Son!

"A son asked his father, "Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?" The father who despite having a heart condition, said, "Yes".

They went on to complete the marathon together. Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying, "Yes" to his son's request of going through the race together.

One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let us join the Ironman together; to which his father said, "Yes", too.

For those who don't know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race consists of three endurance events of a 2.4 miles (3.86 kilometers) ocean swim followed by a 112 miles (180.2 kilometers) bike ride and ending with a 26.2 miles (42.195 kilometers) marathon along the coast of the Big Island.

Father and son went on to complete the race together.

Will They Remember Your Name When It's All Set And Done?

The following song by Maino titled "Remember My Name" got me thinking about leaving legacies and changing the world. Let's make sure the world remembers our name at the end of the day when we're six feet under.

"Left a mark in the hood, made a mark in the world
went straight from the hood, to the top of the world you can tell that I’m different; you can see that I lived it when I’m gone you gunna remember me clearly and vivid, the face of an angel, the heart of a lion, champion spirit, blessed with the will of surviving you remember the face, you remember the game when its said and done….Said you gon remember my name."

GIVE THEM A REASON TO REMEMBER YOU

13 Successful People You Should Study NOW

Below is a list of successful people who I have or am currently studying. What I mean from studying is, I'm analyzing them and determining what led to their huge successes. I'm learning from their mistakes and from their achievements. It's one of the great ways to learn and become successful, because after you analyzed enough successful people and you have a list of the common themes that make them successful then all you have to do is apply those themes to your daily grind and you should become successful as well.

Lance Armstrong
Mahatma Gandhi
John D. Rockefeller
Jay Z
P Diddy
Oprah Winfrey
Will Smith
Bill Gates
Warren Buffett
Donald Trump
Michael Jordan
Walt Disney
Steven Speilberg

The following is a website which you can use to read up on some of the successful people mentioned above: http://www.bestinspirationalquotes4u.com/people/people.html

Everyday Is A New Beginning

I think we tend to spend a little to much time trying to fix the past. I kind of believe that it's human nature to always think about our past and think about what we should have done. Occasionally I start to beat myself over something that occurred in the past, however in order to attract success we have to forget the past. The past is done, it's over. No matter what you think, say, or do you can't go back in time and fix the past. That's the cold reality of it. So just accept it and realize that your past made you into the human being you are today. In a way it's a blessing.

Therefore, your new outlook should not be to look into your past but to appreciate the present and to treat each day as if it's a new beginning and your first day on earth. Each day brings a clear slate, don't fill that slate with the mistakes of yesterday. Instead, pile up the clear slate with today. It's a new start. Go out and take advantage of that and stop beating yourself up regarding the past. Just accept the past and move on and create a better today.

Inspirational Song of the Week: Hedley- Invincible

I've come a long, long way,
Made a lot of mistakes,
But I'm breathin, breathin, that's right and I mean it, mean it. This time I'm a little run down, I've been living out loud. I could beat it, beat it, that's right 'cause I'm feelin, feelin, Invincible.

Steve Job's 7 Rules of Success

1) Do what you love.
2) Put a dent in the universe.
3) Make connections
4) Say no to 1,000 things.
5) Create insanely different experiences.
6) Master the message
7) Sell dreams, not products.

The late Steve Jobs lived up to each and every one of the above rules and it is no wonder why he'll always live on in the hearts of millions.

I recently stumbled upon an very interesting article on PsyBlog. I suggest you read it NOW, it might just save you from failing to accomplish your next goal...

"Search around for advice on how to commit to a goal and one commandment comes up again and again. Apparently you should make your goals public and this will increase your commitment to them.

In theory when you tell your friends that you intend to, say, dig over the garden, or quit smoking, or take up carpentry, it should increase your accountability. You've told a friend, so in theory you are more committed to it.
Also people like to remain self-consistent; it gives us a stronger sense of self. So if you didn't stick to your publicly stated goal it would damage your sense of self.
All these things are true in theory but what about in practice?

Motivation

Unfortunately the mind sometimes has a nasty habit of sabotaging our best attempts to control ourselves. Recent research by Gollwitzer et al. (2010) suggests that, in fact, making our goals public can have precisely the opposite effect from what we intend.
Across three experiments the link between making goals public and actually working towards them was tested. What they found in every study was that when participants had shared their goal with someone else, instead of increasing their commitment, it reduced it.
When they had shared their goals with another, participants put less effort into studying, trying to get a job and taking advantage of opportunities for advancement.

Illusion of progress

So, what's going on? How can we explain the fact that publicly committing to a goal can reduce our striving towards that goal?
One possible explanation is that the very act of showing off our goal to others gives us some sense that we've taken the first step towards reaching it.
In a fourth study Gollwitzer et al. found evidence for just this psychological mechanism. Participants who had made public commitments towards a goal felt they had made more progress than those who hadn't.
It seems that publicly committing to a goal has a similar effect to fantasising about reaching it (see: Success: Why Expectations Beat Fantasies). Both give us some sense that we have taken the first steps when really we're going backwards.
So the next time you read this widespread advice about publicly committing to a personal goal, ignore it. Not only does it not work, it may well harm your chances of successfully reaching your goal. If you're really committed to them, it's probably better to keep your goals private."

Inspiration For You Married Folks

This post is a little different, the following video is for all you married folks. I'm not married, but married life seems to have it's ups and downs and at times it can be very stressful. In order to reach success, we need you to eliminate the barriers between you and your partner and develop full unconditional support for one another.

Hopefully the video below from my man ET allows you to do just that.

Let Your Failures Motivate You

Where others get discouraged when they encounter a failure, I develop motivation. Failure lights a fire in me which makes me want to prove myself.  I remember a time in University when I failed a test...bad, now at first I was devastated, however I knew I could either keep stressing about it or channel the energy from it and put it to use. I came home and let that lesson on failure fuel me and I went the next day and aced my midterm in another class. I put the fuel from failure to use and studied my ass off as I was determined to prove myself and I did just that as I got the highest mark on the midterm in my class.

Let your failure fuel you. I love when I fail...well at first I'm a bit discouraged like everybody else, but then I put that energy to use.

Use the energy you get from failure, don't waste it.

A TV Show Worth Watching: How To Make It In America

I personally don't watch a lot of television shows, I view them to be mostly junk which just destroys the mind, however I recently stumbled upon a fairly new show called "How To Make It In America." I was hooked on it from the start. The show is great, it's everything that the title implies. A lot of lessons can be learned from the show that you can apply to real life. After all, aren't we all trying to make it in America? I highly recommend you watch it. It's wicked. It might just have you working twice as long and twice as hard. It's pure motivation for me. The story involves two gentlemen who are trying to create their own denim line, but the path is anything but a smooth ride. They're faced with many obstacles along the way. However they never give up and continue to push on even when the odds are against them. The show is amazing. Take some time out of your busy life and watch it. You won't regret it.

Remembering Steve Jobs

"This evening, Apple announced that Steve Jobs, its legendary leader, has died. Watch his powerful talk “How to live before you die” — in which Jobs urges us to pursue our dreams and see the opportunities in life’s setbacks, including death itself."

I've posted this video before, however in remembering a true legend it is vital you watch it again. Pay close attention to every word. We have lost a legend...

My Mindset When The Odds Are Against Me

We have all been in situations where the odds have been against us and our back is up against the wall. It's do or die and the odds are not in your favor. Me personally I LIVE FOR THESE MOMENTS. I love a challenge. It's my chance to prove everyone wrong by excelling.

The mindset that I have when the odds are against me can be summarized by the following lyrics from Tupac's song called "Against All Odds."

"AGAINST ALL ODDS I WILL PREVAIL..." It's simple as that failure is not an option. Fuck the odds, success is inevitable no matter what the odds say.

Life Is A Test

People always talk about the difference between school and the real world. Growing up you probably heard it all regarding how school is nothing like the real world, blah blah blah. Well those people actually had a point. In school we would have tests after the teacher would give a lesson, but in life we get the test before and receive the lesson after. That's the pivotal difference in the two. I view life as one big lesson and you either pass by accomplishing your life's greatest ambition or you fail the test of life if you don't accomplish your life's greatest goal.

Will you pass life's test or fail?

The decision is up to you. In school you would spend all night studying for a test, however now in the real world you need to get your shit together and excel and pass the test of life and live the life of your dreams. Let's GO! No failing, no excuses, no stress, ONLY PROGRESS. We are going to pass. Either were going to pass the test of life or were going to die trying!

How To Make Your Dreams Become A Reality

So you got a dream and the next step is making it a reality. That's the fun part, but in order to get to the end we have to start at the beginning. Think of it like this your dream is STEP A and the end result of your dream becoming a reality is STEP C. In order to get from step A to step C something has to be done which is called step B. Step B is hardwork, dedication, persistence and the desire to be great amd never take no for an answer. If you have a dream and step B type of characteristics then it is just a matter of time before you reach step C and your dream becomes a reality!
