"The reason most people never reach their goals is that they don’t define them, or ever seriously consider them as believable or achievable. Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them." - Denis Watley
The following are steps you must take in order to create the perfect action plan!
1. The first step involves you writing down the goal(s) you want to accomplish. Experiment with this step, either list all your goals on one sheet of paper or one goal per page, which will allow you to narrow your focus to just that one goal. If this is your first time in creating an action plan than I advise you to list only one goal as this will allow your mind to shift it's focus to just that one goal and do everything necessary in completing it.
2. Under each goal make a list of what it will take in order for you to accomplish that goal.
example: Goal #1: Get my BBA degree
(List of what is necessary in accomplish this goal)
- wake up at 6AM before class starts and review the section I will be learning about today
- read ten pages of the BBA textbook a night
- make study notes
- review for upcoming tests a week before
etc.
3. Create a To Do list for every day. If you have an electronic device you can incorporate your TO DO list into your schedule and set a reminder. Make sure your To Do list has the time included so it will allow you to know when you will be doing what. The successful people in todays world such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg to name a few all live upon the 24 hour clock method. What this means is that they know they only have 24 hours in a day just like everyone else in the world. As a result they realize there is only 24 hours in order for them to finish what needs to be done for the day. So they space out their activities accordingly around the hours of the day. They state what needs to be done each hour.
4. Set a date for the completion of your action plan. This date will be the day you have accomplished your goal. Be realistic when selecting a date.
5. Constantly be referring back to your action plan. Use it as your reference. It is the key to your success because it illustrates all the necessary steps you need to take in accomplishing your goal.
"Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success." - Stephen A. Brennan
