"You Can't Do That"

How many times have you let other people talk you out of pursuing your dreams. I don't care how wild your dream(s) were, if you let someone talk you out of chasing them then thats one disappointing situation. You probably heard it all like most people when they tell someone about what they are pursuing. The first response is "that's impossible" or "you can't do that" or worst " haha good luck". The response varies, however it holds one purpose that is similar in every negative response. The purpose of that response is to get you into believing you CAN'T do it because the people telling you don't want you doing it in a fear that you will actually accomplish whatever you are pursuing. They don't want you to reach success. Although it depends on what type of people you are sharing your dreams with. For example, if your talking about pursuing your wildest dreams to a successful person they will encourage you, however if you tell a non so successful person they will discourage you (hang out with the right people). Therefore, the next time you share your dreams or goals with someone and they respond in a negative way I challenge you to reply saying "maybe you can't do it, but I can." This will serve two purposes for one it will impact the person your telling and secondly it will reinstate your brain and mindset into proving people wrong. Picture this, say you accomplish whatever you were pursuing and the person or persons who told you that you can't do it see your success and you walk right up to them look them in the eyes and say "I TOLD YOU SO" after all one of the greatest pleasures in life is doing things that people thought you weren't capable of!

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, i'll rise

"Maybe it's proving people wrong... maybe I'm like the defiant child- tell me I can't do something and I'm going to go out and get it done."
